Heimann - Bielschowsky phenomenon (HBP) is a constant or intermittent, monocular or binocular, benign eye movement abnormality characterized by slow, coarse, pendular, variable amplitude movements in an eye with long-term partial or complete blindness. 6,7 The term “nystagmus” has been erroneously used for HBP, as it represents apparently a vergence eye movement abnormality.
